Confiscating Passports
According to recent unofficial reports, the Iranian government has temporarily confiscated the passports of some Iranians returning to Iran. Passports are returned to their owners after a few weeks. The exact reason behind this new policy is unknown. One can assume that the Islamic regime is attempting to conduct a more meticulous background check due to paranoia of foreign influence during the recent unrests in Iran.
